Project Description: Describe your project, making sure to include The Unit Question (that the portfolio or unit presentation answers
Example Description: This portfolio serves as a summary of my work in Unit 1, “Solve It!.” I answer the question, “How can we solve equations, and what can be beautiful about this process?” To do so, I created the problem, “Queen Aubergine is your sickly pet pig, and is losing weight! She started at 40 lbs and is losing 2 lbs every week. How many weeks would it take Queen Aubergine to weigh 12 lbs?” and solved this problem with a partner in 3 different ways, using algebra, a table, and a graph. Reflection: Write a paragraph reflection (at least 3 sentences) regarding each final unit project.
Example Reflection: In this project, I’m most proud of learning online tools to create a refined final product, including annotating and pasting screenshots and highlighting important pieces of my process to make them stand out. I believe that the clarity and organization of my work makes it beautiful, which I created via reading it over and revising it multiple times. I’m also proud of creating a unique and humorous situation (Queen Aubergine the pig losing weight) that I could solve easily in multiple ways! I learned that creating a problem to solve involves multiple clear steps that apply to many kinds of equations, including creating the function first and THEN substituting in the output to get an equation that I could solve. I learned this through working with a student through a few different examples. |
